Maria Anna Mozart, affectionately known as "Nannerl", was born in an era when child prodigies were the rage. Taught by her father, violinist/composer Leopold Mozart, she and her brother, Wolfgang, amazed the courts of Europe and England with their astonishing keyboard skills. By the time she was twelve, Nannerl was considered one of the most skillful keyboard players in Europe. Yet her concert-touring ended when she was 18...While her brother went on to become known as the genius composer of over 800 works, what became of Nannerl? What was her fate? How did she feel about her famous brother...her life and time? | ||||||||||||||||||

for the extraordinary production and performance last evening. The "Nannerl

| "In two brilliant performances, Marilyn Pohlhammer entertained, taught and captured the imagination of my students. Her costumes, her deliverance of the subject matter, her creative way of informing and entertaining her audience kept them and their teachers talking about the show for weeks." S.G. Bean, Principal, Wm. A. Hinton E.S. Chicago | |||||||||||||||||||
| "Girl Scout Troop 191 had the pleasure of watching Marilyn Pohlhammer perform, "Nannerl Mozart - Sister of the Genius". The presentation was educational as well as entertaining and held the interest of our 11 and 12 year-old girls. Ms. Pohlhammer's use of piano, slides, costumes and scenery totally emersed the scouts into Salzburg during the 18th century. It was refreshing to expose young girls to a performance of this quality." Donna Fox, R.N., Joann Wurst, M.A., Co-Leaders. Girls Scout Troop 191, IL | |||||||||||||||||||
